A large belly is probably the most unsightly of all the unfit characteristics. Nothing screams that you’re out of shape louder. Some people will tell you that you can have a six pack abdominal region in no time. If that were true wouldn’t everybody have one, considering it’s the most sought after fitness goal? A more honest, realistic goal for everyone is to have a flat, or at least flatter, stomach. That you can do in no time. Here’s how.
First let’s identify who you are. If you’re waist size is larger than your chest measurement, along with my tip, you need to lose weight. There are countless articles on that, go read them. I also recommend that every one work on their core for strength purposes. Again, thousands of articles on that subject. But the fastest way to have an immediate affect on the flatness of your stomach is something you can do in 1 minute.
Stand straighter.
It is so obvious it’s maddening. If you allow gravity to dictate your posture, even with weight loss and ab work you will look “paunchy”. Have you ever noticed that all the cover models with ripped abs are photographed either standing or laying down? Why? Because in the seated poison their stomachs don’t look as good. If you slouch while standing it has the same visual affect. Add belly fat to this picture and it’s not pretty. But the old joke of standing upright, with proper posture, and sucking in your gut does work. Now the real question is how long can you stand that way?
Well if you have a strong back and rhomboids, all the time. Strengthening your back requires nothing more than lat pull downs, or seated rows . Rhomboid work requires you to lie face down and essentially squeeze your shoulder blades together.
The stronger you become in these two areas the longer and easier it is to stand with better posture, giving you a flatter stomach starting right now.
