Creatine Ethyl Ester Builds Muscle Efficiently

By M Carter

Whether you are a beginner looking to start working out and gaining muscle, or you have been lifting for awhile and are looking for an extra boost for your muscle building efforts, you may want to take a look at creatine ethyl ester. For those of you who have not yet heard of this newer formulation of Creatine, creatine ether ester HCl, also referred to as CEE, CE2, or ester creatine, was created as a response to the relative inefficiency of the standard creatine monohydrate form.

Creatine monohydrate, usually simply referred to as creatine has been around for a very long time in the supplement world. It has remained a very popular bodybuilding supplement due to its scientifically proven effects of increasing gains in muscle mass, strength, and endurance. Creatine monohydrate also proved to be safe for most people to use, although it did produce a few unwanted side effects. The most common side effects included bloating, cramping, diarrhea, and dehydration.

Many scientists and supplement makers hypothesized that the inefficient absorption of creatine monohydrate into the body's cells were the major cause of many of these side effects. Creatine monohydrate is only partially soluble in fat, so when you ingest it, only a small part of it is actually absorbed into your cells and used. The rest sits outside of the cells, absorbing water and taking up space. It is believed that this is the primary culprit in creating the "creatine bloat" and the water weight gain associated with creatine use.

By attaching an ester compound to creatine monohydrate, scientists created a form of creatine that would be more efficiently absorbed into cells. This would theoretically result in less creatine sitting unabsorbed outside of the cells and, ideally, less water retention and bloating (Note: it is still EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to be sure to drink adequate amounts of water while using any form of creatine. Dehydration is a danger when taking creatine and extreme dehydration is deadly.) Also, since it is more efficiently absorbed, creatine ethyl ester would require a lower dosage to achieve the same maximum effects as creatine monohydrate.
